Do you have a “Bucket List”?

In case you’ve been living under a rock in the bush and you don’t know what a bucket list is … it’s a record of things you want to do before you die or “kick the bucket”. Naturally, I did a Google search to confirm I had the correct meaning of the term. A more refined definition is: “A number of experiences or achievements that a person hopes to have or accomplish during their lifetime”.

Many of us just trundle along in life, living each day as it comes. That’s fine if you’re happy to live in the moment, but having some goals and dreams can provide direction too. We all have a different approach to life.

Ponder this – if you found out you had limited time left to live, what would you really want to do? Imagine you have unlimited money and resources… dream a little! Is there something you always wanted to do, but you haven’t done yet? Places to visit? People to meet? Things to achieve? OK, now you’re getting the idea.

Getting started with your Bucket List

There are so many different aspects of our lives from which we can draw bucket list ideas:

  • Career
  • Family
  • Love
  • Travel
  • Health
  • Social
  • Community
  • Spiritual … just to name a few.

What things can you think of doing that would truly give your life meaning and make great memories? They don’t all have to be big things, they just have to mean something to you.
