Seize the day project, make the most of life, midlife crisis, adventure, travel, fun, gratitude

 I believe life is fleeting.

I believe we are all capable of doing amazing things – big and small.

I believe we all have the capacity to be happy and empowered.

I believe we all have the power to enhance own our lives and the lives of others.

I believe time slips by in the blink of an eye.

That is why we must start today, and continue every. single. day.

This is why I created Seize The Day Project.

I invite you to join the community and see where it leads you.

Hello, and welcome. I’m so pleased you could join me here.

Seize the Day Project is about getting the best out of every day, becoming the best possible version of YOU and making your life extraordinary by …

  • Living with passion and purpose – doing what makes your heart sing
  • Enjoying new adventures and experiences – from travelling to learning a new skill to helping others
  • Being mindful, making the most of what you have – and being grateful for it

Many of us want to live a life that’s true to ourselves, not simply what others expect of us. Often, we put our own dreams aside to care for others, sometimes realising too late, that we haven’t really lived.

Seize the Day Project is a place to share stories and experiences about making the most of every day and enjoying every precious moment life has to offer.  I hope it gives you a reason to get up off the couch and do something you’ve always wanted to do or the empowerment to make some major life changes.  By sharing my own challenges and triumphs, I hope to inspire you to pursue your dreams and do what makes your heart sing. This has the added benefit of keeping me true to my intention of fulfilling my own dreams before time runs out! As the amazing Dr Wayne Dyer says, “Don’t die with your music still inside you”.

Seize The Day Project aims to help you:

  • Get your ‘zing’ or mojo back
  • Living an inspired life
  • Help you come alive… in essence, to Seize the Day, every day.

To build this community of like-minded people who support one another, I need your help. If you know someone who may be interested in Seize The Day Project, please feel free to send them a link to this blog or ask them to LIKE our Facebook Page. We’re all in this together .

There are no quick fixes or miracle cures here, however, as a story sharer and mentor, what I hope to offer you is the inspiration to: nurture the courage and strength that is within you, to grab hold of life with both hands and have the faith to follow your dreams. Hold on tight and stay tuned, you’re in for an inspiring ride!

Inspiring and empowering women

I’m an Aussie girl, wife, mum of 2 kids + a golden retriever, copywriter, blogger and chief organiser at our place (like most mums!). I want to make the most of every day of my life by actually doing the things I love, chasing my hopes and dreams, and building great connections with my beautiful friends and treasured loved ones. I started this blog to ensure that I do my best to make the most of my own life, and to share that journey with others so that they may do the same. It’s just as much about you as it is about me. In fact, I’d love to hear your stories and invite you to contact me via the Submit Your Story page.

As well as posting about inspiration, adventure and creativity, I write stories about some of my travel adventures. These are simply to inspire you and demonstrate that anyone can travel, if it’s what you really want to do. It took me 4 years to save for my trip … ANYONE can do it, even if you’re on a limited budget!

I invite you to follow my journey and hopefully, be inspired to pursue your own dreams. I post regularly on Facebook and I aim to load a longer post on the blog each week (fingers crossed!). I also post on Pinterest and Twitter. Feel free to connect with me – don’t be shy! All the links are below 🙂

A little of my story so far …

After spending way too much valuable time stressed out and working in jobs I hated, I broke free of monotony and jumped in with both feet, launching my first business, a gift and old wares store, in 1992. I’m still not sure if I was brave or naïve! As part of my marketing initiative, I sent out newsletters to clients detailing how to source, restore and preserve old furniture pieces. My lovely clients responded so enthusiastically, I realised the information could be compiled into a book – and my clients agreed. Don’t you love it when other people support your dreams?

I worked feverishly to thrash out a draft, which I then sent off to several publishers with my fingers and toes crossed. After two knock-backs, I was offered a contract to publish My Grandmother Had One of Those with Harper Collins, and finally realised my lifelong dream of becoming a published author – yay!

I knew I wanted to write for a living, so I decided to combine the knowledge gained through my business degree with my practical experience of owning and managing small businesses and my love of writing – launching The Professional Writer in 1998. I’ve been a business copywriter ever since, writing web copy and marketing materials for a wide variety of small and large businesses.

I’m proud to say I’ve also been a Mentor in the Women in Business Mentoring Program run by Industry and Investment NSW. I was asked to further contribute by writing modules for the training portion of this Mentoring Program. I found this to be a very rewarding experience, as it gave me the opportunity to listen and learn about many of the participants’ inspiring stories of courage, persistence, strength, resilience and success.
